Ingredients

Scale

Broth and Seasonings

  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

Main Ingredients

  • 12 frozen dumplings
  • 1 package instant ramen noodles (without seasoning packet)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups fresh spinach leaves

Garnishes

  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare soft-boiled eggs: Bring a pot of water to a boil and carefully add the eggs. Cook for 6-7 minutes to achieve a soft-boiled consistency with slightly runny yolks. Transfer the eggs immediately to an ice water bath to stop the cooking process. Once cool, peel and slice the eggs in half.
  2. Heat and season broth: In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a simmer. Stir in soy sauce and sesame oil to infuse the broth with rich, savory flavors, creating a delicious base for the ramen.
  3. Cook dumplings in broth: Add the frozen dumplings directly into the simmering broth. Cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the dumplings float to the surface and are thoroughly heated through.
  4. Add ramen noodles: Add the instant ramen noodles to the pot. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the noodles are tender, stirring gently to prevent them from sticking together.
  5. Wilt fresh spinach: Stir in the fresh spinach leaves into the hot broth and noodles. Let the spinach wilt for 1-2 minutes until it becomes bright green and tender without overcooking.
  6. Assemble and serve: Divide the noodles, dumplings, and spinach evenly between serving bowls. Ladle the hot broth over each bowl. Top with halved soft-boiled eggs, sliced green onions, and a sprinkle of black sesame seeds for added flavor and texture.

Notes

  • For a spicier broth, add a splash of chili oil or some crushed red pepper flakes.
  • If preferred, substitute chicken broth with vegetable broth to make it vegetarian.
  • Use fresh dumplings if available for enhanced taste and texture.
  • Peeling eggs under running water can make the process easier.
  • Adjust soy sauce to taste depending on your sodium preference.
