Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Pasta

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Vegetables

  • 1 cup diced bell peppers (any color)

Sauce and Spices

  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. Cook the chicken: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chicken until fully cooked and lightly browned, about 6-8 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and half of the spices (garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, oregano). Remove from heat.
  3. Prepare the sauce mixture: In a large bowl, combine the cooked chicken, cooked spaghetti, diced bell peppers, tomato sauce, and remaining spices. Stir well to combine all ingredients evenly.
  4. Assemble the casserole: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Transfer the chicken spaghetti mixture into a greased baking dish. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses evenly over the top.
  5. Bake until bubbly: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted, golden, and bubbly around the edges.
  6. Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy your hearty and cheesy Firefighter’s Chicken Spaghetti!

Notes

  • Use leftover or rotisserie chicken to save time.
  • You can substitute bell peppers with other vegetables like mushrooms or zucchini.
  • For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes or diced jalapeños.
  • Make sure not to overcook the spaghetti during boiling, as it will continue to cook in the oven.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
