Instructions

  1. Combine Cereals: In a large bowl, mix together the Cocoa Krispies® and Rice Krispies® cereals evenly to create a balanced crispy base with a chocolatey undertone.
  2. Melt Marshmallows and Butter: In a microwave-safe bowl, add the mini marshmallows and butter. Microwave in 30-second increments, stirring after each session, until the mixture is completely melted and smooth.
  3. Add Cocoa Mix: Whisk in the hot chocolate mix thoroughly into the melted marshmallow and butter mixture to incorporate the hot chocolate flavor fully. Microwave for an additional 30 seconds to ensure everything is blended well and warm.
  4. Combine Mixtures: Immediately pour the marshmallow mixture over the combined cereals. Gently fold the mixture with a spatula or wooden spoon until the cereal is evenly coated and sticky.
  5. Press Into Pan: Line a 9×9-inch baking dish with parchment paper. Transfer the cereal mixture into the dish and press firmly and evenly into the pan to compact and form the base layer. Allow it to cool and set for about 15 minutes.
  6. Prepare Chocolate Drizzle: While the bars cool, place the semi-sweet chocolate chips and cream in a microwave-safe measuring cup. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  7. Cut Bars and Decorate: Lift the set cereal mixture out of the pan using the parchment paper. Cut into 16 equal squares. Drizzle approximately 2 tablespoons of melted chocolate over each bar, spreading to the edges.
  8. Add Marshmallow Topping: Immediately sprinkle mini marshmallow bits over the chocolate drizzle on each bar before the chocolate sets, enhancing with a gooey, festive finish. Repeat for all bars.
