4.7 from 74 reviews

A flavorful fusion recipe combining Korean kimchi and bulgogi-style beef with melted cheese, served hot in a soft sandwich roll for a delicious and savory Kimchi Bulgogi Cheesesteak.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef

  • 1 pound thinly sliced beef (ribeye or sirloin)

Kimchi

  • 1 cup fermented kimchi, chopped

Cheese

  • 4 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese

Bread

  • 4 hoagie or sub rolls

Instructions

  1. Cook the beef. In a skillet over medium-high heat, add the thinly sliced beef and cook until browned and just cooked through, about 4-5 minutes.
  2. Add the kimchi. Stir in the chopped kimchi with the beef and cook together for another 2-3 minutes to blend the flavors and warm the kimchi.
  3. Melt the cheese. Lower the heat; place slices of provolone or mozzarella cheese over the beef and kimchi mixture and cover the pan to melt the cheese, about 2 minutes.
  4. Assemble the sandwich. Split the hoagie rolls, stuffing the cheesy beef and kimchi mixture inside each roll and serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Use thinly sliced beef for quick cooking and tenderness.
  • Kimchi adds a spicy tang and depth of flavor; adjust quantity to your heat preference.
  • Provolone and mozzarella both melt well and provide a mild creamy taste.
  • Serve immediately after melting cheese to enjoy the best texture and flavor.
  • Optional: Add sliced onions or bell peppers sautéed with the beef for extra crunch and flavor.
