Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Base

  • 1 box brownie mix (plus ingredients required on the box: usually eggs, water, and oil)
  • 1 cup crushed graham crackers
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Toppings

  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare Graham Cracker Crust: Combine crushed graham crackers with melted butter in a bowl. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of a greased baking pan to form the base layer of your brownies.
  2. Mix and Pour Brownie Batter: Prepare the brownie mix according to the package instructions, then pour the batter evenly over the graham cracker crust in the pan.
  3. Bake Brownies: Place the pan in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 25-30 minutes until the brownies are set but still moist in the center.
  4. Add Chocolate and Marshmallows: Remove brownies from the oven and immediately sprinkle chopped chocolate or chocolate chips evenly over the top. Then, scatter mini marshmallows generously over the chocolate layer.
  5. Broil to Toast Marshmallows: Switch the oven to broil on high and place the pan close to the heating element. Broil for 1-3 minutes, watching closely, until the marshmallows are golden brown and toasted. Remove from oven promptly to prevent burning.
  6. Cool and Serve: Let the brownies cool slightly before cutting into squares. Serve warm for the best gooey texture.

Notes

  • Watch the marshmallows carefully when broiling as they can burn quickly.
  • You can substitute the semi-sweet chocolate with milk chocolate or dark chocolate depending on your preference.
  • For extra gooeyness, add a few chocolate chips under the marshmallows before broiling.
  • Use a metal baking pan for best broiling results as glass pans may break under high heat.
  • Allow brownies to cool completely to allow easier slicing and cleaner edges.
